August 24, 2023, BIBA

Image: Heiko Duin
The lunchtime "S(ch)nack", hosted by the Technologiepark Uni Bremen in cooperation with the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Bremen-Oldenburg and BIBA, will highlight possible measures on the way to greater climate friendliness and energy efficiency in companies. BIBA has already set out on the path and reports on the individual, small steps with a view to the big picture. Among other things, the PV system commissioned in 2023 (in cooperation with UniSolar and the University of Bremen), which covers approx. 22% of the building's electricity requirements, will be presented. In addition, BIBA operates various self-sufficient energy systems for research and teaching purposes, such as seven micro wind turbines on the roof of the building as part of the "Energy self-sufficient production" learning factory.

How can Production be Improved through Digital Store Floor Management?
September 6, 2023, online

Image: Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Hamburg
Shopfloor Management (SFM) focuses on the small, daily improvements in production through the regular analysis of key figures. In the workshop, you will learn how you can further improve your company through digital SFM (dSFM).
Digitalization of store floor management offers a wide range of possibilities: For example, a digital representation of performance data in real time makes it possible to detect deviations early(er). If this performance data is then enriched with process data, it can be better understood. In addition, employees can be supported in the store floor meeting, for example, by digital assistants in finding and eliminating deviations. dSFM, however, also harbors weaknesses and risks. In this workshop, we will show the connections and provide you with templates and an implementation method to realize the full potential of dSFM in your company.
The workshop is a cooperation event of the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Hamburg and Bremen-Oldenburg, in which BIBA is involved.

Open Campus 2023 - BIBA Focuses on "Green" Production and Logistics
June, 24, 2023, Bremen

Image: Universität Bremen
On June 24, 2023, the University of Bremen once again invites all interested parties from Bremen and the surrounding area to an Open Campus starting at 12:30 pm. In addition to a varied stage program, there will be exciting things to discover at every turn in the Campus Park. The BIBA participates in the Open Campus with two guided tours, in which we explore the question of how production and logistics can be realized truly "green" - away from compensation payments to the use of renewable energies, the application of efficiency technologies and the formation of flexibility measures.
Expert Conference "Quo vadis Industrial Location Germany? How Industrial SMEs Can Maintain Their Innovative Strength Despite Scarce Resources"
June 22, 2023, Bremen

Image: Aleksandra Himstedt
Shortage of skilled workers, energy transition, climate adaptation, digital transformation or changes in global supply chains: The much-vaunted transformation to a sustainable and resilient corporate structure requires the greatest efforts with limited resources at the same time. But there are solutions: Regional innovation ecosystems, digital technologies, specialized outsourcing partners and smart human resources policies make it easier for manufacturing SMEs to manage the available resources.
Experts from business and science will present tried-and-tested strategies and answer participants' questions on how to implement them in their own companies. BIBA, as a partner of the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Bremen-Oldenburg, will be there and will present the "Model Factory 4.0". This shows which digital services on a platform basis are made possible by Industry 4.0 in logistics. In addition, there will be the opportunity to visit the Mobile Factory of the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Hannover, which illustrates exemplary digitalization solutions in industry.
The conference is offered by the Bremen and Bremerhaven Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Bremen-Oldenburg. It is primarily aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises in order to demonstrate solutions and strategies for dealing with scarce resources.
The event will be held in German.

June 16, 2023, 10 a.m., online

Image: Digitaltag.eu
Digitalization is changing the world and making its way into many areas of our lives. It is also increasingly supporting us at work. In the future, digital assistants will perform heavy or complex tasks in our place or together with us. But how exactly does this work?
Answers and examples will be provided at the virtual demonstration in the BIBA Shop Floor Lab at Digitaltag 2023, to which we would like to cordially invite you.
· Be curious to see how robots work hand in hand with humans, how this cooperation works and for which activities it is useful.
· Learn about assistance systems that help with assembly and how humans can give commands to a robotic system without using the programming language.
· Learn how a digital voice assistant equipped with artificial intelligence supports production workers by relieving them of time-consuming and burdensome tasks.
The virtual demonstration is offered by BIBA in cooperation with the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Bremen-Oldenburg. Invitations are extended to companies (especially SMEs) looking for suitable digitalization technologies to increase their competitiveness, and to anyone interested in digitalization in the world of work.

Eröffnung der Brede-Lernfabrik „Energieautarke Produktion“ im Fachbereich 04 Produktionstechnik

Programm
Begrüßung Prof. Dr. Jutta Günther, Rektorin der Universität Bremen
Einführung und Projektvorstellung Dr.-Ing. Matthias Burwinkel, Leiter Projekt Lernfabrik
Besichtigung der Brede-Lernfabrik
anschließend get together
