What does sustainable production look like in practice? And how can renewable energies be integrated into production and logistics processes? These questions were addressed during the lab tour in the BIBA Shop Floor Lab on 8 September 2025.

Participants were given an insight into the internal BIBA Shop Floor Lab and were able to experience current projects relating to climate-friendly value creation and cross-sector energy systems at first hand. This clearly demonstrated the focus of research at BIBA: from intelligent energy management systems to new concepts for resource-efficient production and logistics processes, approaches were presented that can be directly transferred to the company. The lab tour showed that sustainability and digitalisation are intertwined and open up new avenues for a sustainable industry.
