MINT4girls at BIBA: Schoolgirls Discover the World of Technology

Image: Aleksandra Himstedt
BIBA is involved in the MINT4girls project for the second year in a row with the aim of getting schoolgirls interested in research in production and logistics. The project, initiated by the Bildungszentrum der Wirtschaft im Unterwesergebiet (BWU), offers female pupils in the 8th and 9th grades in Bremen the opportunity to immerse themselves in the exciting world of STEM professions - mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology - and find inspiration for their career choices.
As part of this, we welcomed two groups of girls from the Oberschule an der Helgolander Straße to workshops in the BIBA research hall on 23 January 2025. The schoolgirls learnt about hands-on technology in our Hackspace. From designing products for 3D printing and producing small parts with the laser cutter to personalised giveaways - the girls were able to plan and implement all of this themselves. An exciting adventure with technology in practical application and a small insight into a possible career in engineering. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
