Exoskeletons in logistics - long-term study in practical use

In the BVL magazine Drei 2025 (page 34), Christoph Petzoldt and the team from the BIBA - Bremer Institut für Produktion und Logistik provide insights into their research in the RessourcE project, which is investigating the use of exoskeletons in logistics.
At the centre of the project is a long-term study conducted over several years directly in operational practice. The results will be incorporated into the development of practical implementation processes and a software tool for the systematic selection of suitable assistive technologies - supplemented by exoskeleton-integrated sensor technology for analysing strain and increasing acceptance. The aim is to specifically relieve people in areas where physically demanding tasks cannot yet be automated - for healthier working conditions and greater sustainability in logistics.
