On the 19th of September 2024, the Future of Industrial Engineering Day (FIED24) took place at the Phoenix See in Dortmund. Over 160 experts from industry and research came together to discuss the workplace of the future and the central question of ‘People and technology - partners or opponents?’.

In addition to exciting keynote speeches and presentations by other experts, BIBA also contributed new ideas to the topic. Christoph Petzoldt shed light on the topic of ‘Operator 5.0’ in his presentation in the science track. Among other things, he presented a concrete example of implementation from the BMDV-funded IHATEC project MEXOT, which aims to achieve intelligent work organisation through the combination of autonomous transport systems and sensory exoskeletons. The event not only offered valuable insights and stimulating discussions, but also excellent networking opportunities.
