Maritime Transfer Tour "AFSTEKEN!" - BIBA Kicks Things Off

Last Friday, 15 participants learned why some ship lights emit little light, how to monitor goods transports by sea and how a special foil system can be the antifouling solution of the future. "AFSTEKEN!" was the name of the tour. In this case, it means something like: heading for unknown shores. Guests signed up without knowing where they were going and who they were going to meet. For the second time, the Maritime Cluster Norddeutschland (MCN) invited to this format.

The tour kicked off at BIBA, with the first demonstration being the system for simulation-based planning from the Isabella project. In logistics, it can help to avoid empty runs and to locate vehicles, which contributes to considerable time savings. Another demonstration presented a sensor solution developed in the SaSCh project that can be used to monitor goods in transit. In this way, for example, transport damage can be detected even before arrival. From the MEXOT project, an exoskeleton was demonstrated that can improve the ergonomics of work. In addition, the company LightPartner Lichtsysteme GmbH & Co. KG presented its lighting solutions for ships in the BIBA hall, from tugboats to cruise liners. After the stay at BIBA, the tour continued to the companies SAACKE GmbH and G. Theodor Freese GmbH, which also offered informative insights into their products and technologies. At the final round, praise followed praise: "I think the format is sensational", "I'm happy about the networking", "One of the professional highlights this year". Some participants already know they will be back next time. We, too, are pleased to have contributed to the exciting format.
