Transfer Dialogue With Bremen-Based Startups

Under the motto “Staying Agile in Uncertain Times,” founders, small and medium-sized business owners, and experts gathered on August 31, 2026, for the Transfer Dialogue at the Union Brauerei in Bremen – and we at BIBA were right in the midst of it, together with the Mittelstand-Digital Center Bremen-Oldenburg.
As part of the startup network meeting organized by BAB – the Development Bank for Bremen and Bremerhaven – and Starthaus Bremen, the focus was primarily on practical insights and direct exchange at ten interactive discussion tables. Our colleague Markus Trapp led and moderated one of these discussion tables on the topic: “Digital Twins in Industrial Processes.”
Especially in dynamic times, the digitalization of industrial processes is a key building block for greater resilience and future viability. Through virtual simulation and process optimization, well-informed, data-driven decisions can be made even before real-world changes are implemented. How SMEs and startups, in particular, can leverage this technology was a key focus of our discussions. The lively exchange at our table highlighted just how great the demand for digital solutions for industrial processes is in the region.
