The SharePort project officially kicked off on January 21, 2026, at BIBA. Together with strong partners from academia and industry, BIBA is researching how resource sharing in ports can specifically contribute to strengthening the resilience, flexibility, and competitiveness of Bremen's ports. The focus is on the question: How can existing resources in the port be used cooperatively despite competition in order to better respond to disruptions, shortages and unforeseen events?

SharePort is a starter project of the “Smartport Transfer” SPorT innovation community, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space in the DATIpilot program. The aim is to bring science and industry together to advance the ports of Bremen through digitalization and automation.

BIBA would like to thank the project partners: German Aerospace Center (DLR), German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), and the Institute of Media & Systems Engineering at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences for the open exchange and successful launch, and looks forward to working with them.
